A collection of images from a leaflet of the Avicenna Foundation (mid 1980s)
Toddington Manor, Gloucestershire.
Provided by Meghan Dorman.

During the 1980s Toddington Manor was in use as a school for children from the Middle East & Africa , it seems the Manor was owned by a consortium of Arab business men who formed the Avicenna Foundation. The images from the leaflet clearly depict the Manor and the activities that took place, I have been able to get the text translated as shown on this page:

Top left of leaflet below - Position:
Avicenna College is situated in the heart of England. It is very close to many cities and beautiful places. The college is a large palace. It used to be inhabited by a rich property owner in the area. It was surrounded by very large lands and fields near which a small river passes. They all belonged to that owner.

Bottom of leaflet belowt - Excursions:
Different excursions are organised for the college students to introduce them to England and the English people; also to link education and culture. Excursions include the following cities: London: to visit the places that deserve to be seen and to go shopping. Stratford: to visit the place where Shakespeare was born. Oxford: to visit the university, museums and libraries. Bristol: to visit the zoo and to ski.
